update on my 75

i have my 75 back with a new cat and both sills repaired and a panel by the drivers side front wheel .£ 420 , i got a CAT from a online dealer a lot cheaper than official so the body shop fitted it, needs must given things currently . fair to say I've had a lot of short time so lost a lot of money in last couple of years so i have to do what i can to keep the 75 going ... with Bevs health issues travel is not as simple as it should be but not impossible, subject to many things ... the fleet is the 75 , the MGF and the last two years or so as we have reason to get a AUTO we part exchanged our MG3 for another MG trying to keep in with longbridge . a MG ZS 1Lt 3 cyc TURBO which is very much a car that feels it has a bigger engine and very smooth . the MG 3 and now the MG ZS in large part are to help keep the 75 and F going as long as possible with doing more day to day stuff with options to doing events . the 75 is still in daily use as i mostly use it as bev mostly using the automatic for her more stop start traffic , but will take the F and 75 a few times a month to keep the cars charged etc ... and while the F is mostly resting as over 112.000 miles it isn't off road completely . most MGFs tend not to have that many miles. my 75 has a lot more but is a CDTI... trying to keep our cars going as long as possible...

Our fleet is still the 75 , a MG F and a 2020 MG ZS 1 Lt 3 cylinder TURBO automatic as had reason to get a auto .. Bevs on going Balance issues very much effect her travel but a chance it may possible to do the may event in Germany .. Not yet certain as need more information . After last very bad return trip when things went South after our visit after the event had to be aborted . But given our situation without a good phone signal and no internet a plan B wasn't a option , ... Only just making the ferry is something I never want again ... So if we go may just head straight to the ferry but maybe come across a few days before maybe stopping in Holland or just going early to the event hotel ... Not yet thought much as not yet go the full information . Better check out passports are still valid ? I guess we had better bring our 75

Just had a near £2000 bill on my 75 but it has a mot . It was taken to Austin garages who is slowly restarting after a long time with problems due to death in the family and Jean being very very effected but seems in a better place now .. Not got phones yet so contact mostly by email .. My car has rear dampers ,front pads and discs . Lots of stuff below horn fixed , aircon fixed ,(new condenser ) regased . A long list of things ...... And could of been more but passed without advisory well Fair to say it wouldn't of passed before .. The headlight lenses needed polishing . so underneath should be spot on .... The car is 20 years old next year . I've had it since about 2008 one of the last MK1s as about 200 cars after mine is the face lift ... From the vin number .. How long we can keep it going given the move against diesel in the UK ? Some towns/city's my car isn't welcome being a EURO 3 cdti .. But for now I try and keep it going .....

Diesel euro 3 will be a problem also on the continent,but glad to hear that you invested a couple of bucks to keep it gliding on I got a green badge for Germany as i fitted a mechanical diesel catalyst on mine

I have the same problem her on the continent with my diesel with no diesel catalyst on it.

And in the Netherlands such a retrofitted filter has no value.
In cities like Amsterdam all diesels older than 01-01-2005 are not welcome; mine is officially registered February 2004

It is what it is and I keep it going as long as possible.

I Have standard cat as fitted by factory but its still euro 3 which isn't great in some areas which i will have to be mindful of i. it is currently running engine wise ok but then i would hope so after money paid
