I think I have the mid range audio system in my 99 Conn SE, CD in the glove box and a 4inch by 5inch display panel.
The system sounds OK but do you think I would get a great increase in quality if I was to have the Harmen Karden system installed? What exactly do you get for the money. I have been told better quality speakers and a sub in the boot.
Is that it or is there more?
Is it worth the money or would I be better just getting an after market system?

I think that you got the Alpine Symphony Radio, so "SLE" (= Symphony Loudness Enabler) is recommended. It is a small electronic component, created by our member "hutsch". This electronic component "SLE", fitted into the radio set, boost

Hi rainady!
Mintman was a little faster than me There is also an
english version online. Just look at www.r75-parts.de
I hope that the information on this pages are sufficient to you.
If you have any further questions don't hesitate to ask.
If you are not really sure of what type of radio you have, just have a look at the pictures on the SLE homepage or have a look at the FAQ there.
Cheers,
Hutsch

In answering your inquiry about having the Harman&Kardon Sound system as option I'd like to offer my advice, which is frankly the same as from everybody in this forum:
Get the SLE installed instead !!!
I have it for about 2 months now and it makes all the difference in sound.
While the H&K system helps the Alpine radio from "lousy "to "not too bad", the SLE alone makes a whole new world. I've checked Alpines with SLE only as comparison.
True, H&K adds some on top, but if it is really worth the money after SLE, I doubt. Check it out, and if it's not good enough for you, you can still chip in some money later.
Just be careful with replacing the Alpine radio altogether, as (you can read this in other threads) of-the-shelf radios don't support the R75 antenna configuration - thus resulting in lesser reception.
Hope you find your solution and good sound.
Regards, Steff
