I just hope it turns out to be the correct one Mike. I phoned MGR three times now and they always say "we will phone you back" but never do. The dealers just said "no chance forget it" Never mind I will get there in the end.

How old is your car Mike? I have had a look at your reg plate but of course you have a cherished number its a good one as well! Trouble is as you have probably read mine is right on the changeover from one type to another.

March 2001 Ken. Longbridge built but before the cost reductions meant the loss of some items.

I bought it when it was exactly two years old. Yes R40 RVR is quite neat with R40 being the manufacturer's original project code for the car. I was really surprised because I got it from the DVLA site and it was at their base price-no premium at all

No luck with the wooden steering wheel yet

but, like you say about the gear knob, I will get one it is just a matter of waiting.

I've just managed to buy a Symphony radio as mine came with the Harmony. Now I've just got to sort out a new lead from my dealer so I can fit it

Bl**dy expensive to keep these cars eh

You must come to our next 75 meet-I'll buy you a drink on the basis thast we both agree no filching bits from each others 75's.

I will be there if I can but keep in mind I live about 200yds from the coast! France is closer than London which means the midlands are somewhere around Paris. I expect what I will do is make a weekend of it.

I have ordered new plates today but nothing fancy like yours, mine is just K90 for my dog with mine and my wifes initials.

Don't know if you remember but I clipped the gate post about six weeks ago (£178) I took the gates and posts out then yesterday clipped the low wall alongside where the posts were! This time its £300 We are now thinking of removing part of the wall and having the drive block paved and widened £££££££. 34 years driving without a dent and I buy a 75 and have two in six weeks. She is being done on the 22nd of this month. If I am not careful I will have Englands only 75 made from body filler ..........only joking its not that bad.

Nothing else for it Ken. Remove all walls, all posts and in fact anything that might in any way pose the slightest risk to your 75...........then and only then can you lead a peaceful and content life

Anyway hope it gets fixed OK.
