Both the sun visors on my 18 month old Conn. 75 have come adrift. They fall out of the fitting in the roof when you take them off the clip. There is nothing on the end. Has anyone else experienced this or was the sun visor fitter at the factory having a leak when my car went past? Does anyone know how to fix? |

Mick - it certainly is a warranty claim, but with big distances in Australia going to the dealer is very inconvenient, and so if it is easy to fix I will do it myself. The next service is in October. |

Hi Timmo,
I owned my a little bit more than one year when I had a similar problem. If the sun visor was turned around in front of the side window it came down completely. The dealer replaced it as a warranty claim. It was a ten minute drive to the dealer, so I did not fix it by myself.
Maybe you could thicken it's ending by taping around. Or if you can still use it in front of the windscreen, you perhaps might be able to wait for the service in October. (But I don't know the Australian sun yet. )
Regards

Thanks , Juergen, it seems quite a common fault - we do have a lot of sun in Australia. |

I have taken off the 2 screwed plate that holds the visor to the roof. The metal tube that enters it from the sun visor is held by a clip on the back of the plate. A firm push secured the visor back and it is now being held perfectly. It could well be possible to give it a push without taking the plate off but I did not want to try this. So, everyone, this is an easy fix.

Hello timmo,
had this problem as well and repaired it myself. A thick grommet and a self tapping srew did the job. Never had a problem again.
Greatings from Europe from a big Australia fan!

Thanks, Timmo, so I do know now what to do first, if it should happen again.

That is a pleasure, Joergen. It is possible to push it back into place without unscrewing the plate from the roof. If it keeps happening then the simplest method would be to cut off the clip behind the plate, and fit a collar with a grub screw to the tube behind the plate. With greetings from Australia - maybe a visit from you one day? |
