Yesterday i had my car up on my ramps,to investigate why my car still wanders to the left (i had the front tracking done last week but stills pulls to the left).
i found the rear left trailing arm front fixing bracket had moved,i could see original "witness marks" where it was fitted from new so i reset the bracket
now the car drives great the only thing i needed to do was readjust the steering wheel position, because the front tracking had been done while the rear wheel allignment was wrong due to above _________________ Mick |

Hi Mick,
same with my car, and also the profile on the left rear tire is used up like a cone. I also can see that the fixing bracket has moved about 1mm. I am just a little bit scared to reset it myself.

dont be scared! just loosen the three bolts and move the bracket back to its original position,if you have a torque wrench then tighten bolts to 100Nm if not do them up tight and check with torque wrench later, dont worry it is really as simple as that _________________ Mick |

Hi Mick,
just to be sure. We are both talking about the screws described in :
http://www.r75.info/modules.php?op=.....ies=Allgemeines+zum+75#37
OK, it is german but the images should be self explanatory. In that case I will give it a try this weekend. So far I just fastened them a little bit without bringing the brackets to their original position.
Greetings
Malli

Thanks for this. My tourer suffers the same problem after the tarcking has been reset. I'll take a look!

Mick,
My car has wandered to the left since the day I got it (new). My dealer has supposedly checked the tracking. I will have a look at the fix you suggested, wouldn't you have thought that Rover might have twigged onto this by now and sent some info out to their dealerships or is this too much to ask?
Regards Marky |

Hello
My Car has wandered to the left since day one also, (Conn SE CDTi 131 Saloon High line) so far the dealer has swapped tyres round, carried out numerous 4 wheel alligment tests, carried out an independant alligment test, dismissed your findings about the bolts loosening, Rover technical paid for MG ZT Steering rack, now have taught steering but still wandering to the left, this is my 4th 75, never had problem before 3 of 4 cars had 16" wheels (the service dept said that was the cause).
I spoke to Dunlop Technical services about my uneven Tyre Wear, they said it was inline with the tracking being way off.
So it looks like I am stuck with a car that will never be right, which is a shame.

they dissmissed my findings on the bolts being loose!!
do they think i made it all up or something?
well as you know my bolts were loose and i put trailing arm back were it was from new, i could see it had slipped and now all is ok _________________ Mick |
